The São Bento Inox Medal is a stainless steel pendant from São Bento. Resistant material does not blacken easily, just avoid exposure to the beach environment. Saint Benedict of Nursia was a monk, founder of the Order of Benedictines, one of the largest orders of monks in the world. He was the creator of the Rule of Saint Benedict, one of the most important and widely used regulations of monastic life, inspiration for many other religious communities. He was Santa Scholastica's twin brother. He was designated patron of Europe by Pope Paul VI in 1964 and is also patron of Germany. He is venerated not only by Catholics, but also by Orthodox. He was the founder of the Abbey of Monte Cassino in Italy, destroyed in World War II and later restored. His day is celebrated on July 11, the date on which his relics were transferred to the Abbey of Saint Benoit Sur Loire.
